At the far end of Velilla and lying on the eastern border of the municipality is Taramay, a small district spread either side of the main N340 highway and down to the sea. It incorporates the last beaches of the area, including Playa Tesorillo, Playa Pozuelo, Cala Bahía and Playa Cabria (see Beaches). Above the main road, the buildings thin out with occasional urbanisations and numerous farmhouses surrounded by mainly unirrigated land.

Being a long-established residential and holiday area, most of the original district is still low rise and rather dated. On the beach, however, is the attractive 4-star hotel Bahia Tropical (beside Playa Pozuelo) and the somewhat faraonic Hotel Playacálida, also 4-star, which stands imposingly on the small hill between Cala Bahia and Playa Cabria. Cala Bahia is now occupied by the new La Galera urbanisation.
