This is the kids' favourite visit and one of the noisiest places in town, especially at dawn. Around 1500 exotic birds from 200 different species are on display in this popular park that entertains visitors of all ages.

Opened in 1987, the Loro Sexi has a fascinating selection of birds that ranges from the common pigeon to the spectacular peacock, with almost everything in between, including parrots, tucans, cockatoos, swans, ducks and even ostriches.

Pine-shaded walkways climb the lower slopes of the hill as far as the foot of the castle walls, leading to more caged areas and a cactus garden. In summer the park holds regular parrot shows for the children. Enquire at the park or in the nearby tourist office for details.

Entrance to the Loro Sexi is in the Calle Bikini, leading off the Plaza de Abderramán on the beachfront below the castle.
