Fishy Disappearance

Nine people have been arrested from stealing literally tonnes of fish from the fish pens off Salobreña. Some of those arrested were caught red-handed, as they allegedly scooped out the fish, principally doradas (gilt-head bream)

It doesn’t matter how hard an economic crisis hits, some people will always find a way to make money, and that is what appears to be the case, with the ‘haul’ being sold off to shops and bars along the coast.

The police from the Guardia Civil post at Salobreña, as well as the maritime branch of the corps based at Motril Port carried out a joint operation that netted six small fishing boats and nine suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 50.
